hi ,guys
IF i did update the bios on my laptop, is there a best time to update the bios, meaning, is it better to update bios soon after you get a fresh windows7 install, or can you update the bios to your system any time with out no problems, is there a set order when it comes to bios, drivers, etc,

big thanks for your time guys,
bluesfloyd.

unless it has been recommended by PCS I would not advice you to update the bios on your laptop.

I strongly second what keynes has said. Elsewhere on these fora (https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?48606-Warranty-Pc-Bricked) is a post from a Packard Bell user who mistakenly flashed the wrong BIOS and has completely bricked his computer.

The BIOS is not like other software, in fact it's not software at all, it's firmware. It's technically part of your hardware and it does not need updating unless you have a problem that can be traced to the BIOS or unless you need the functionality provided by an updated BIOS. Contact PCS directly if you want to know whether it's safe to update your BIOS, but don't do it unless you really need to and after PCS have told you it's safe to do so.
