Bioshock - SERIOUS ISSUES!

Hey guys

I would not mind guessing that a lot of people know what i'm on about to say based on my Title "Bioshock - SERIOUS ISSUES!"
I downloaded the 1 & 2 pack in the Halloween sale (£6 is ridiculous!)...anyway for the record 2 works fine, Bioshock 1 however does not. It loads and comes up with bioshock.exe can not be found, or something like that. I googled the issue and tried several things (Change compatibility mode to Windows Vista/XP) (I run Windows 7 64bit). Re-installed it and still nothing. I also changed a launch property (Type in "-dx9", this still did not work. I've tried everything i can find and think of myself and it's not made any difference. At this rate i'm going to end up having to watch a playthrough on Youtube, really disappointed.

If anyone has any other things i could try, please let me know

Is the game linked to steam? If it is, right click on the game (in steam) and choose properties. Then go to the local files tab and then verify the integrity of the game cache. This will download any missing files if it is something missing. If not then try to reinstall the game

Thanks for the advice. This was 1 of the things listed on Google that i tried over the weekend (Sorry should have listed) Did not make a blind bit of difference. Having spent a few hours googling this Sunday, SO many people have had issue with this game. My PC is pretty up to date so it's defo not a spec issue

This is sooooo not useful but I had lots of problems getting this working a long time ago. I did get it working but I cannot remember for the life of me how I did it.

go to steam folder / steam apps / common / bioshock /builds / binaries & look for the bioshock executable (main entrance to game) , try to launch it from there.

If you cant find the executable , then your antivirus might have removed it , yes antiuvirus will remove legit stuff sometimes , mine removed my batman exe the other day & i got the same message (its standard for a missing executable)
