Blu ray burner a bit slow

Hi all

Does anyone have a PCS blu ray writer in their laptop and found it a bit slow ?? I'm fairly sure it's rated at 6 x

Mine very gradually gets up to a maximum of 4 x during the burn (using TDK or Verbatim discs), the same discs reach a full speed almost immediately of 10 x and 6 x respectively in an external usb 3 burner (on a different laptop) both laptops using imgburn and windows 7 64 bit.

i'm figuring this is possibly caused by an old driver for the bd-r/w. Has anyone else experienced this ?

I don't have much experience with optical drives as I hardly use em these days to be honest. Though that said I too would be looking at a driver update if one is available...

Thanks yes it probably is an old driver that's the problem. I'll update it then get x 1 burn speed knowing my track record
