Bluray drive?

Hi,
firstly thankyou very much to ilike2burnthing for tweaking my specs, much appreciated.
However, I have one other question before ridding myself of pennies. Would it be better to have a dedicated bluray device. I am hoping with a self build in v high specs (i7 3rd gen) it would be WiDi & of good quality. What do you think?

You only need a Blu-ray drive if you want to play blu-ray disks.

If you happen to own a ps3 you could just use that and save money in the process, otherwise, what Vanthus said. (or an Xbox, would I be correct in thinking they have blu-ray also?)

Xbox had HD-DVD I think, which was beaten in the 'war' by blu-ray if i remember correctly.

Hi thanks for replies. I *sit down for this*.....don't play games & don't have a Bluray player. Just wondered if having a bd drive would be as good as a bd devise stuck under my tv. Mind you I could be converted to game playing.
