BSD after cloning C Drive

Afternoon all,

So yesterday i cloned my C drive (which contains my Windows 10 install) from 250GB Samsung 850 EVO drive onto a 500GB Samsung 860 EVO drive. All seemed well until about 10 mins into playing a game got a BSD, never an issue before. This has repeated several time now. No other hardware changes, have used Samsung Magician to check the drive, no issues reported. No thermal issues that i can find.

This has me flummoxed!

What did you use to clone the drive?

Was the new drive put into the same machine?

And old drive has been kept out of the machine so i can swap back if i cant resolve this. Only thing i did differently from previous clones is i used a USB 3 to SATA adapter to clone it out of the machine.

Afraid not, kicking myself now! Ah my son did say the first time it happened it did not BSD, it just stopped outputting a video signal, again whilst playing a game. I'm using the machine now and it seems stable in normal use.

Not a problem, had a big break myself. So cloned the drive again and same issue, getting a BSOD mid game:

Stop code: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

That's almost certainly a driver issue. Was the drive you cloned from exactly the same PC you're using now? If you cloned the C drive from a different PC then you will get all sorts of issues.

Yes its the same machine, literally just swapping out one of the drives for a bigger one.

Did you uninstall display drivers with ddu and reinstall?
I did but that was before i tried the new clone, have just used DDU and done a clean install, ran a system file check and it corrected a few errors so fingers crossed again as not sure where to go if this doesn't work!
