Budget gaming rig for 7 year old.

Hi all,

Recently bought a beast from here and I am super happy with it.

Today my best friends step sons laptop died after the windows update. He only got it for xmas but is devastated. Imagine your ps1 or Sega Megadrive dying just before your summer holidays begin and you get the idea.

The games he wants to play are Roblox and Minecraft, however it needs to run fortnight well as that is coming up on the kids wishlist.

Budget is £500 (buit can flex this slightly) Monitor can be bought at another time but if you can get a monitor into that budget then please do so

I would advise having a look at fixing the laptop to be honest. There's nothing for that budget that's not going to be a waste of £500 in the long run unfortunately.

You would be looking at around £800 to have an entry level gaming system without a monitor/keyboard/mouse/etc.

The alternative would be another off the shelf laptop, it's not going to have particularly decent power but it's a convenient choice

Just to strongly confirm, a windows update won’t break a laptop, might break windows but a reinstall should fix it.
