Build advice

Hi all

Its time to renew my laptop which ive have for 4 and half years and is showing serious signs of wear and tear.

I'm looking fr something that will play games such as football manager and cities skylines as well as several word documents, basic internet (8-10 tabs along with word documents at same time) as well as being semi portable. At the moment I have a gaming laptop which is OK for what I now use it for but perhaps a bit more battery life than my Cosmos 2!

I have had a look on the website to see what I could build but to be honest I have not really got a clue. I believe good RAM (8gb (?)) and a processer over 2.4Ghz would be best? I have a budget of around £650-£700

Many thanks and merry Christmas :)

Merry Christmas to you (season's greetings by this stage?:))

I think your best bet might be to dig through the sales and see if you can find something with an i5 -h series and a GTX 1050 for your budget.

PCS do the Cosmos VII with an i5 8300H and a GTX 1050 for £766 with this spec: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/saved-configurations/cosmosvii-15/2eUczVdbtt/

But I can't recommend it next to the Vyper with a 1050 ti for £830: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/saved-configurations/vyper-15/Bx2vtV8yQy/

Since the 1050 ti is about 35% more powerful iirc.

You could try finding something with a similar spec to the Cosmos on sale for the lower end of your budget as an off-the-shelf spec, but you might be hard pressed to do that in the UK (I haven't looked).
