Hi all,

Considering a first-time desktop build (usually go for laptops) for hopefully 1440p ultra gaming, though would settle for 1080p ultra if budget is an issue. Looking to game the latest AAA titles, have a nice quiet cooling system and be able to upgrade seamlessly in the future.

My budget would be up to £2,500 for this build, including the monitor. To be honest the desktop build process on PCS has so many options and categories that I have no idea how to do it cost-efficiently on my own so if anyone could point me in the right direction or suggest some specs I'd be really grateful thanks!

£2500 is a perfect budget for a 1440P Ultrawide setup, which I would actually consider to be the ideal perspective.

Do you need peripherals as well or are they already dealt with?

Something like this would be a good starting point (not including monitor, expect around £600 for a decent ultrawide). There are savings that could be made from this but future potential was taken into consideration with regards to upgrading....

You may need to be quick though as monitors are selling like hotcakes due to the lockdown.

The Corsair K55 is a very good entry level keyboard and PCS have some in stock (haven't compared prices with elsewhere), mouse, pretty much anything these days is pretty good. Amazon do some incredible deals on decent mice, there's a really good review here which is from December 2019 (not a lot has changed) and varies on budget massively.
