Build in card reader - light

Machine arrived, performs superbly, exactly what I was hoping for. Win 7 boot time 45 secs of which 35 secs in the BIOS.

One irritant though is that the build-in card reader has a bright red light that stays on when the system is powered down (Corsair 650W PSU). I really don't want this - what are the options (I'm guessing unplug the blighter internally is top of the list, but that seems a bit drastic)?

Thanks
Mike

Unplugging the card reader is the easiest and cleanest way, maybe do what i do with the lights i cant stand on my rig:

Providing you have a spare sata connector and floppy power connector, it should be easy enough to replace if you go down that route.

If you are thinking of opening the case up and really really dont like the light you could remove the card reader and open it up. Disabling the LED should be a simple case of interrupting the solder or unplugging it.

Just in case anyone else is thinking the same thing - I replaced the supplied card reader with a nice little replacement from SkyDigital (Korean): http://en.skyok.co.kr/product.php?code=609

This has an on-off switch as well as a couple of other nice features like a micro-SD slot and powered USB 2 connector (power from 5v molex instead of motherboard USB)

Nice enough product but blimey - that website made my eyes bleed. You'd think they'd invented the warp drive rather than just knocking up another card-reader.

I've bought houses based on less "information" than that.
