Ah right good to know thanks, I assume that means they aren't affected by the lockdown here and can get pcs shipped offThere are no additional charges based on my experience. The vat is charged at Irish rate. Merchants have the option of charging at Irish rate at source or selling without vat where the vat etc is charged by customs. Pc specialist seems to be using the former.
Ah I didn't think of using that, I' only new on this forum, Is there a forum for the 3070 I noticed you didn't link on and I couldn't find one using the search functionThere're already duplicate threads where you can find the answers. Just use Forum Search.
PCS Posts on RTX3080 stock position
Hoping to bring some light to this situation, I have been trying to buy my own 3000 series card. Shedding blood, sweat and tears providing around the clock support. Here is the answer from purchasing and I thought it was worth a laugh. Our purchasing team is working around the clock, we are...www.pcspecialist.co.ukThe Great RTX 3060ti Wait and Delivery Thread
That wouldn’t make much sense, surely. You’d have to go to the back of that queue which is presumably as long if not longer than this one. No point resetting yourself now. Could be that the CPU you’ve ordered isn’t in stock also so they’ll have to wait for that on top of the GPU My CPU isn't a...www.pcspecialist.co.uk
Brexit and VAT
Since I live in Ireland, I was wondering how the VAT on orders from within the EU would be taken care of with the post-Brexit situation.www.pcspecialist.co.uk

rtx 3070 sales preference according to upgrade / build ?
So I bought my rtx 3070 29/10 @ 13:15 (surely must have been one of the first) and still waiting for it. It's an upgrade to my existing build. Does PCS give preference to new builds or is it literally first on the ordering list? I just spoke to them and said can't say even if I'll get it this year!?www.pcspecialist.co.uk
Wow thanks for going over that in so much detail, good to know I won't have to pay anything extra at all, probably not gonan have ordered by the end of this month so gonna have to pay at 23% but better than having import taxPCS confirmed that they'll cover any excess charges on what you paid for in the order.
I.e. if your system costs €2,000 and you paid the €2,000 to PCS you will 100% not be paying any more than that. There's multiple conversations of PCS saying they'll cover any customs/import fees.
Regarding VAT, atm ROI is using a reduced rate of VAT @ 21% until the start of next month, then it's going back to 23% at the start of March.
The VAT you're paying would increase from 21% to 23% as Irish VAT is chargeable on UK exports Ireland (see below; VAT Headlines).

So unless customs is already included in the price, you're paying nothing extra - the final price listed on the PCS site is what you're going to pay and any excess is covered by them. You should (?) be paying 200 basis points more in VAT if ordered in March, assuming the above article from KPMG is correct and that VAT is charged when you purchase and when you receive the goods.
