Can any of you adjust your brightness (windows 7)

The brightness fix isn't part of the hotkey driver at all, I believe. I had the same problem, and the USB stick they sent me with the fix contained the hotkey driver, a bluetooth driver (for some reason), and a BIOS update, which is what fixed the brightness issue. I installed the BIOS update before updating the drivers, and became able to adjust the brightness immediately afterwards. The hotkey driver included doesn't even seem to work for me, it just crashes when I boot up the laptop - it's definitely not needed to be able to change the brightness.
If they sent you the BIOS update (You'll see the USB stick has a bunch of files including 01.bat, 02.bat, 03.bat, COMMAND.COM, and FLASH.BAT if it does have the BIOS update), try installing that using the instructions they should have provided along with the usb stick and see if it helps.

This BIOS update with those 3 install scripts on the USB key is exactly what PC Specialist kindly sent me. I have windows 7 on an Optimus V and the BIOS update fixed the problem for me - I can now use Fn F8 and F9 to adjust my screen brightness and also the Windows 7 Display Control Panel slider also adjusts the brightness (which it wasn't doing before the BIOS update).

I'm really not impressed with pc specialist and have my doubts as to whether i would use them again to be honest.They were good in fixing my bsod's by replacing the kingston ram with samsung,but the fan issues had to be sorted out by ourselves.Not only that why the hell were they sending me the hotkey fix when i specifically told them i had the brightness issue?.They should of sent the bios updates you guys had.
They have been taking forever to get back to me,so I've given up!
