Hey all,

My pc arrived last week, im happy with it, but I still have a few little problems, firstly here is my main components.

Processor (CPU) AMD PHENOM II X4 970 (3.50GHz/8MB CACHE/AM3) - BLACK EDITION
Motherboard M5A99X EVO:USB 3.0, SATA 6.0Gb/s, Quad CrossFireX™/SLI™
Memory (RAM) 8GB KINGSTON HYPER-X GENESIS DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz (2 x 4GB KIT)
Graphics Card 1GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 560 - DVI,HDMI,VGA - 3D Vision Ready

The 2 problems I have, is I have a VGA WARNING light that comes on soon as power is turned on and stays on. Although the computer runs fine, no GPU issues or anything.

Secondly I cant boot into my BIOS, when I try the computer does nothing, blank screen, fans still running, etc, any suggestions? I have looked everywhere for info on these problems. To no avail. According to my manual when the VGA warning light is on there should be a problem, but like I say it all works fine. And the BIOS issue I just can't figure out.

Any help or suggestions much appreciated!

I updated the BIOS using the Asus toolbar in windows and now it won't even boot up. I have a boot warning light. It asks me to go into BIOS to restore to previous setup but the screen goes blank. After another reset windows says there was a software or hardware problem. And takes me into safe system recovery mode. Where it tries to resolve the issue and fails. Then it reboots. And the cycle starts all over again. I have taken the battery off the mobo to try reset the BIOS. To no avail. What could I do to resolve this issue?

Thanks guys.

Pretty much tried everything. Ever since I got this pc I never had a Asus bootup splash screen either. I don't think it detects the graphics card in the boot cycle. Until it hits Windows. And that's why I can't see the BIOS and that's why the vga warning light is on. I can't even get into Windows to install the older BIOS Rom file. It crashes on Windows logo and restarts again. Looks like this computer will have to sadly be returned which is a complete pain in the neck and puts my work right back :l

Ha. It's late I know. I'm just writing it all down now while its fresh! I'm off to bed. Hopefully this can be resolved tomorrow. I'm not sure how tho. I thought I was pretty good at fixing pcs lol.

If you can't boot into windows anymore try putting the Win7 disc in and see if you can reinstall the OS if you can then try installing the bios from the disc for your motherboard in your welcome pack.

I had a similar problem, it seemed that at the time one of the power cables to the graphic card was not quite seated properly, but the cable turned out to have a loose connection to one of the power plugs at one end, after changing the cable for a new one all was ok

Thanks for suggestions guys. Tried everything digested so far. Think I have a duff mobo. It's booked in for a return. You win some. You lose some. Tech guys could not help. A set back. But hopefully will be returned ASAP.
