Card Reader and CF storage card issue

Hi,
New PC arrived yesterday, it's now Saturday and they won't be open to answer this issue...
When I insert any of my 3 CF cards, used in my Canon 30D, the usual USB found new hardware tune plays, over and over and over again until the the card has been removed. SD card OK and all three CF cards work in a external card reader plugged in a USB port.

Any ideas ?

have you managed to get hold of support ?
I'm guessing they will get you to check the connection and then any drivers/software it might have. A normal external card reader doesn't have any s/w though. So maybe they'll just send a replacement ??

have you got any mapped drives or network drives that might be conflicting with the drives that the card reader is trying to use ?
