Case Dimensions Issue

I'm building a rig with (as these 2 seem to be the only pertinent components):

4090 GPU
Corsair 1000W RMx power supply

I chose the PCS PRISM TG WHITE ARGB MID TOWER CASE which is 488 mm x 216 mm x 455 mm

Got the message : "the power supply you have selected does not fit in the case you have selected"

I then chose as a test the PCS PRISM-X ARGB MID TOWER CASE which is 475 x 216 x 410 mm

No error.

Why is the reportedly bigger case getting an error but the smaller on isn't?

Could we perhaps start a feature request to display internal dimensions (if that makes any sense)? Otherwise I'm sort of forced to have to ignore the dimensions given and just try every case until one works.

If you've selected an incompatible case, the configurator will highlight in red the ones that aren't suitable in the next pick

Similarly with the individual component list, same thing happens.

It's the PSU size that the case can accommodate. Often to do with a shroud if it has one, these can be quite restrictive in the PSU length you can fit.

The configurator can only hold so much info, if you need details specs, then it's best to look at the manufacturers website.

I'd strongly suggest a better case than the PCS options for that level of build. If you're looking for a white case, you probably need to look at the "send in your own case" option. I'd suggest looking at the white versions of:
  • the Corsair 4000D Airflow/4000X
  • the Corsair 5000D Airflow/5000X
  • the Fractal Meshify 2 or the Fractal North
  • the Lian Li O11 Dynamic
Other options, naturally, are very much available!
