CD ROM faulty.

I received my order almost 1 year ago.

I have never used my CD tray until recently and only then just a couple of times. Every time I have used it there is a loud ticking/clicking noise as the cd revolves and the CD seems to have some difficulty in being recognized initially. This is concerning and has happened on every occasion no matter what cd is inserted. It seems to me that the drive in question has been faulty when fitted. Can you please advise. I have tried to get through on technical help phone line and can't wait on hold due to expense of call.
