I kept the price low, as I'm sure new technology will be made in a few years time, which will make these current specs pointless.. wouldn't it?

You could have carried this on over on your other thread as you are basically just lowering the budget then people know what information you have given about what you are using this for and anybody looking over it can see what info and advice and feedback you have already been given.

Anyway no matter what you buy with computers it will be out of date as early as anywhere between 1 day and 6 months as this is how fast things can progress on PC's but as it is to a certain extent the more money you have for the build the better the specs which also extends the life of the PC so pointless depends on how things alter in the coming years which nobody can say.

As you are just playing games and watching movies (obviously you will need a bluray player if you are watching blurays) there is no need to get an overclocked PC so the i5 can be dropped to the standard version the CPU cooler can be reduced also and as you are not bothered about max settings you don't need the option of adding a second GPU so you can lower the motherboard so with the savings you can go for a better GPU which will perform better on newer games that come out in a year or 2 and also go with 8GB ram to keep it more future proof as this is well within budget see spec below.

Great spec there by fear. The only thing I would do is to possibly make it sli compatible. That would mean upgrading the psu to 750w and getting either a 570 or a 560ti.
