Cheap laptop advise

Hi experts

I have an ancient Acer Aspire laptop which I'm feeling is due a renewal.

I have a budget of around £800 (would like to spend less if possible) and I'm looking to put together a system that will be able to play Guild Wars 2 at a better setting than absolute minimum as I have it running at the moment.

I know laptops are a compromise system but as I don't have room for a desktop they're what I have to run with and as I work away from home quite frequently, having a system I can take anywhere with me allows for FM13 whilst away and GW2 when at home.

I'd prefer a 17" screen but if I can get more bang for my buck I'll happily take a 15.6" but I don't want anything smaller.

If anyone can point me to a good starting build that will cover my needs or even a bespoke build I would be appreciative as I've no idea where to start

Not sure what you intend to do with your Acer Aspire once you have the new laptop but I am now using my ancient Acer with a new OS and it is working really well, boot up time has gone from more than five minutes to less than one. It may not be much good for gaming but if you put a Linux freeware OS on it will make a handy second laptop.

Thanks Keynes, thats the sort of system I was speccing myself, it's a bit more than I was aiming at but then you only get what you pay for I suppose.

Is the GTX 765 a big step up on the 660 or is there minimal difference as I'd rather have the bigger 17" screen if possible but I can only really afford that on the 660 graphics card

The old Acer will be getting all it's general gubbins relocated to the back up hard drive and the system will then be given to the missus for general browsing etc...
