I'll be using this computer for high end video editing, so rendering out 4k footage. I'll be using video manipulation software such as After Effects too. I'll be using the Adobe Dynamic Link to manipulate footage in After Effects to then realign in Premiere, which will require both programs to be open and running simultaneously.

I'll also be using it for gaming. I use steam and play games such as Skyrim, I'd also like to get Dying Light (when it's released in UK) and Shadow of Mordor.

What do you guys think?

I think you could scrape in a hex core X99 system for your budget but you would be limited to the GTX760 as your GPU which depending on how important gaming is to you would be your bottleneck for that. For now I have done a quick config with gaming taking equal priority to the video editing and buliding a system with a GTX 970 and upgrade path, but sure this can be improved on. If you want I can put together the x99 as well.

Eddie that's an interesting build, I'll consider that some more and let you know what I decide.

As much as I'd like to spend more money on this, I can only "afford" £1500. Student loan :D
