This is my rig:

Coolermaster CM II case
i7 2600k
ASUS P8P67
HD 6950
1 TB Green HDD
16 GB RAM Kingston Hyper X
ALT CoolIT water block
x3 Sickle Flow LED fans including original CM front fan and back fan
x2 glow sicks (lol)

I am craving another order and build from PCS. Any suggestions ?

PS I need Skyrim running at 60fps on Ultra and using RNB. Currently its running at 30-40 fps.

Is this the rig you're thinking of buying, or the one you have? :p

I think its the build he already has.

You might find Crossfiring will improve the performance or just getting a better graphics card - though that one is still not particularly old, you don't need a whole new machine :), unless you need the old machine for something else.

Agree with Rakk about crossfiring. Or, if you have money to spend, go for a 580, 570, 7850 or something similar :)

Those numbers sound Nivida so I could use Nivida also, thanks!

Yes nvidia , 1 x GTX 580 will play skyrim at 60fps in ultra (as long as you have the game updates that is , performs a bit roughly without these)

I can play skyrim in ultra ( i dont use AA though , no need for it on skyrim for me) on one card just fine & you have a 650w pack & i believe the reccomended for a single 580 is 600w.

But if you plan on using mods for skyrim , like the fxaa mod for example this could push GPU usage up a bit & im not sure if one 580 would cope , being that you want ultra at 60fps - i dont use the mods , but if you do im sure someone here who does use the mods could advise you if one 580 is enough to handle it.

but if its just standard un - moded skyrim you want to play , the 1 x GTX 580 will definately be fine ( i have a 3 gig models , so weather or not this makes a difference from the standard 1.5gb models im not sure - wouldnt think so though) :)

Thankyou for your advice m8! And your right about the mod issue. Do you think the RAM may be the main bottleneck as Skyrim can only use 4 GB Ram max ? My HD 6950 runs on ultra and is 'playable' but not perfect as I am OCD lol

The difference in VRAM would make no difference unless you're going to be playing it across multiple screens, on one screen the 1.5GB one would be perfectly fine, if playing across 3 screens I'd definitely consider the 3GB version :)

No you rams fine , i dont think there is any game out there at the moment that can address more than 4 gigs (you do mean system ram?) - it just means that you have a ton of ram in reserve for the future,

But if you mean GPU ram then as im not farmiliar with that card can you tell me how much ram is on the card & i will be more than happy to do a benchmark of skyrim on ultra & check card memory usage with msi afterburner for you , but im sure it doesnt go over a gig of card ram ( but i could be wrong)

Yes this is what i thought i just wasnt sure TBH - my 3gb ones are overkill for just one screen , but they were ony £20 more expensive than the 1.5gb models , so i went for it for just for future proofing more than anything really.

(probably will never use all 3gb only on one screen , but you never know & for only £40 extra , it seemed like a good idea) :)

or you could try surround :)
with your specs it would be worth it

my RAM on the card is 2 GB. Yeah I meant system ram correct.
As a query Oblivion runs far slower than Skyrim for me I wonder what this could be ?

Yes it could be something i could try out , i suppose thats why i went for it , just to open up doors & options & for not having to worry about running out of card ram any time soon .

Thanks for the suggestion , could well be the next upgrade (as soon as i save the cash that is) , nice to have the option there even if i dont go for it :)

Well as far as ram is concerned ( both card & system ram ) - your fine & you have a better processor than me
( although sometimes hyperthreading can actualy degrade some games , but its easy to turn off)

I just think you need a faster GPU & i know for standard skyrim in ultra a single GTX 580 is perfect for it :)

As far as oblivion is concerned , i wouldnt trouble your self over it , i have thrown so many things in terms of hardware at it & it just seems to get worse with better hardware - it never was very well optimized to start with , thats the good thing with skyrim , it just runs smoother.

Some games just have bad optimization & oblivion is one of them , no matter what hardware you give them they just run poor .
( it is old now as well)
