Clarification on returns...

If I buy a laptop from PCS and dont like it, can I return it within 14 days if:-

.I have turned it on
.Used it to surf the web
.Installed games

??

Assuming it is returned with all components and not damaged, and all games/software uninstalled?

Read it thats why Im asking here, does'nt really say if you can install games or not.

Well given it states in section 6.8

Any software or consumable goods that have been unsealed or activated do not have the right of cancellation and will not be refunded. Please see section 28(3)(b) of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 for further information.

I would assume you are allowed to install stuff on it, but I don't work for PCS so that's just my reading of it.

This is the bit that applies:

You must also return the Product(s) to us immediately, in the same condition in which you received them, and at your own cost and risk. You have a legal obligation to take reasonable care of the Products while they are in your possession. If you fail to comply with this obligation, we may have a right of action against you for compensation.

Clearly turning it on is a given. How would you ever know it wasn't suitable if you never turned it on?

Equally using it for surfing the web is also a given. You have to be able to test it to see whether it's suitable.

Installing games, or any other reputable software, must also be acceptable I'd have thought. You have to be able to test that it's fit for your purposes.

What you cannot do is break it or cause any damage, even cosmetic, so you have to be very careful with it during your acceptance phase. You might want to leave plastic protective coatings in place (as long as they don't cover ventilation holes) until you're sure you're keeping it. If software that you install causes damage then you would be responsible for that too, so be careful what you install. It's also vital that you keep all the packaging and that it goes back packed in the same way in which you received it.

I don't work for PCS either, the only way to get a definitive answer is to call PCS.
