Computer problem...... MoboGenie ???

I deleted a program called MoboGenie from my computer. I've just reset my computer and a message appeared.

DaemonProcess.exe - System Error

The program can't start because QtCore4.dll is missing from your
computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

What is was the program and do I need it?

Also is there a way to check if you need to update a codec on your PC?

I was on Assassin's Creed and I got returned to the desktop saying that my antivirus was trying to allow a file to connect to the internet and I quarantined it. Maybe I shouldn't have.

I took it out of the quarantine area and when the message appeared again, I let it connect to the net.

So does the PC boot up fine and you can still access everything ok? Looks like you left most of the program behind and it is attempting to start but can't find all of its files. A quick google search says this is an Android <-> PC file sharing program and is apparently downloaded with anything from CNET (download.com) unless you decline, its nothing harmful other than adware, but it should be removed. I think that the easiest way would be to reinstall the program fully and then uninstall it through 'Revo Uninstaller' this program searches your whole computer and removes any files that are left behind after the program has been uninstalled, which is often quite a lot depending on the program.

Deleted it. Computer boots up fine.

I also clicked on the wrong link when I downloaded a mod for Euro Truck Sim 2 and it installed 'MySearchDial' and a link? to some free games. Deleting them now.

Just take the extra 5-10 seconds to double check every time you download anything from the internet. The only reason most of these apps are free is because of bundled adware.

it's a good habit to get into and after while you wont even realise your doing it

ah, I hate it when that happens. Dodgy downloads. Whenever people ask me to look at their laptops "because you know about PC's tom, can you fix mine?" dodgy downloads is normally one of the main issues.

I now have another problem.... I'm normally in the middle of a drive on Euro Truck Sim 2. When I park the trailer and go and search for another job, the computer freezes and I get multi-coloured horizontal lines all over the screen. So I have to reset the computer.

Just now, it did it again and it said

'Checking file system on c:
The type of type file system is NTFS.
Volume label is Windows.

One of your disks needs to be checked for consistency.' etc

I let it run the check.

This afternoon I deleted a program that installed itself. I keep having problems with the PC since this download (mistake) I made.

EDIT: I did a full virus scan and it found no problems.
I keep using CCleaner about 3 times a week.

I might do a disk defrag tomorrow.

I ran the second check and found no errors. Currently downloading the first check.

No I couldn't do anything on the PC

Ok. Its finished scanning and its found a few.

mysearchdial.com was one of them.

EDIT: It asked me to restart the computer, so I did. I'm surprised how quick Steam updated!! Going to start Euro Truck and see if it does it again.

Should I start a disk defrag or not?

Well get them removed.

Try ETS2 again and see if it crashes at the same point, ETS2 is still quite buggy for me personally, it crashes quite a bit for me still and has given me quite a few BSODs. Try a reinstall of the game see if that helps.

I got them removed when it asked me to restart the computer.

I've just tried ETS2 and its working ok now.

I've never had a problem with it until I downloaded the 'mistake'.

Im still avoiding all mods for ETS2. I know some of them dont work with others and i know at least one of them corrupts your save file when you try to uninstal it. Could do without the headache of having my savegame corrupted. Put many hours into building my haulage empire...

I started a normal game with no mods. Finished one drive. Screen went black. Then turned itself off.

I've deleted the ProMod download. Just sticking with the normal game.

I'm just about had enough with this computer now.

At least Assassin's Creed 4 doesn't crash on me!!!!

It actually took me to the website, which a lot like Google. and it set my homepage to that Mysearchdial !!

I hate mysearchdial!!!
I installed an app the other week it asked me whether I wanted mysearchdial, I said no and it installed it anyway!
Was an absolute pain to get rid of from Google chrome

Sorry i dont understand. You said that you started a game without mods but then you say you deleted ProMod? so you had ProMod in when you started the new game? if so how could you start a new game without mods?

Also, not to sound rude or anything but its not the computer at fault, its yourself you should be annoyed with for inadvertently installing crap into it.

Its not crap actually.

I restarted the game with no mods ticked on it. I then deleted the mod from the mod folder. You have to tick the mods you want to use in the Edit menu.

I've given up with the game.
