Concerns about my GPU temperature..

Hi, got my PC yesterday - everything looks brilliant! Except this morning I installed an application to see my gpu's temperature and performance. It seems that the average temperature in the pc is 40 degrees (when doing nothing). Once I open up Minecraft, and start playing, the temperature rockets up to 65 in about a minute, and from there on continues to 70, slower than the first jump. (By the way my gpu is the GT 630). As well as this, the usage goes right up from 0-1% right up to 99. Is this normal? if so, how much hotter can it get before its unusual/dangerous for my components? Thanks!

At what fan speed do you game?

Well, I haven't fiddled around with anything. So its what it was set to when I got it. It says the fan speed usage is 35%

I am not really sure at what temperature the GPU should be for your card but my card has gotten hotter in the last few days, and I get similar temperatures at 30% fan speed (iddle) and around 60% when gaming but I increase the fan speed to 80%. You could try installing Vtune (palit gpu? ) and increase the fan speed when gaming. Your GPU should be able to stand temperatures up to 98'C, I would not worry unless you are reaching 90 degrees. What case do you have? The temperatures can also be influenced by the case, how good the cable management is for better airflow, chassis fans you have,

The cable managment is ok, and the case is a coolermaster 310. Note that it only has its origional fan, and has not been fitted with any other fans in the 3 slots. The temperature is around 40 when doing nothing. Maybe around 45 when doing light gaming. I think it's too hot, and that's another one of my concerns..

I believe you can install 3 more fans in that case, if you are concern about the temperatures that would be my suggestion but as Vanthus mentioned those temperatures are not something you should worry about.

and for the 3 more fans, should the front one be an intake, the back exhaust, and.. im not sure about the 2 side ones.. any ideas what should be?

front, side and bottom generally intake fans, rear and top generally exhaust.

What gpu do you have?

Like the others say unless it gets to 85c plus dont worry, i've had my top 580 at 70c for a few hours today, plus a blast on metro 2033 was at 80c! its fine really, apart from my room is like an oven now -.-
