Control Center Fn + Esc key combination

the use manual says;

Control Center
Press the Fn + Esc key combination... ...to toggle the Control Center on/off


this doesn't work!

do I have to install a particular driver?

Yes , on the driver disc there is a control centre driver that controls things like the keyboard backlight colour.
