Hi just a quick one ... Is the front USB 3.1 Type-C port mentioned above connected by default as mine does not seem to do anything when I connect either my phone or wireless headphones (to charge)?
Thanks

It would depend on whether the board supports it or not. If it is not working, i’d imagine it doesn’t

USB C doesn't necessarily do power delivery.

As @Ash_ says, it depends which motherboard you have as to weather it has a USB 3.1 header for the front port in the first place, and then if that has power delivery.

Have you tried it just as a data connection? Does that work?

Would a data connection include a mobile? Sorry for my ignorance.. my motherboard has this on board 'ASUS® TUF X570-PLUS GAMING (USB 3.2 Gen 2, PCIe 4.0, CrossFireX) - ARGB Ready!' so I'm guessing it does support it.. after reading more about it I would agree it might not seem to support power... again I'm still getting up to speed in this 'new' stuff..

There's a mid-board 3.1 header on that motherboard which could be used with the USB-C connector. Not sure why PCS wouldn't use this, or if it's being used for another purpose.

If you can take a clear picture of the RHS of the motherboard we could take a look for you. It may depend on the header plug requirement of the socket itself too, so if you can find that and take a pic it would be helpful.

Motherboard has:

1x USB-C at the rear
4x USB3.2 Gen1 at the rear
2x USB3.2 Gen2 at the rear

2x USB2.0 Internal Headers (Supporting 4x USB2.0 ports) - Likely connected to the front upper 4 USB ports.
1x USB3.2 Gen1 internal Header. Labelled U32G1-12, 20 pin and likely supports 2x USB3.1 (the actual 3.2 tends to be considered gen2). This is the one that would make sense to connect to the USBC port at the front.
