Cooling Defiance II 17.3"

Hi all,

Right so got my new laptop on Sat, and what a beast it is!! so very impressed with the build quality and speed etc straight onto Ark Surivial, and it was like a different game! Getting a nice steady 40FPS+

My question is though, i just sit on the coach with my laptop, i use it on an upturned dinner tray, so there is a stand off between myself and the laptop to help with cooling, now my only quesiton is, are the cooling Pads any good?? and can anyone recommend one, i want to be able to use it on my lap though.

Also, does anyone have a good suggestion for monitoring temps? i used to use Speed Fan, but does this monitor the GPU or not?

You really want a pad with a fan. In my experience those with a single large fan or two biggish fans are more reliable than those with a number of smaller fans. I have an Avantek pad with two large fans and an aluminium top (which the laptop sits on). I'm very happy with it too, it's quiet and effective.
