Cooling Fan/Case Enquirey

I recently bought a new system and havent really noticed or thought nothing of it untill i touched the top panel and noticed it was hot,i have a Coolermaster H500M with a 120 Radiator in the top(dont know if its in pull or push) but the fans are outside, leaving not much room between the glass and the fans, what i would like to know is,would it have been better with the fans under the radiator inside the case?
If its pulling then the glass really restricts the airflow

I took the top panel off and the temps were 10c lower

The glass panel is always going to cause an airflow issue, however when you say 'hot' what do you mean? Is it hot like you can fry an egg on it hot or is it just warm to the touch? Depending on how warm/hot it is, it might not be a problem really.

Moving the fans may provide better air flow to the radiator, but it might not improve temperatures as much as you would hope.

You should be able to tell if the fans are push or pull with the panel open if there's warm air being pulled out of the case or if there's cool air being pulled into the case.
