Crysis 2 updates/texture packs

Thought I'd give an update as I've run into some problems. I plan on using two mods: Blackfire2 & MaldoHD in addition to the high res textures and dx11 support. The mods themselves can be found here

Initially i installed the game from CD to my /Steamapps folder, however i think i made a mistake by not creating a dedicated folder, with the effect that my Crysis2 folders were installed alongside my CSsource folders etc. I did however run the game, succesfully patch to v1.9, install dx11 and high res textures. Upon running MaldoHD you are asked to designate the root folder, and even upon checking the folder that mas my Crysis2.exe file i was still informed the path was not correct.

Swallowing my pride i uninstalled Crysis 2 & this time created a dedicated folder on my D: (Caviar Black) Installed all again however now i ran into a new problem. This time upon running the game, when the automatic update to v1.9 takes place, i am again told that the game cannot find the correct path. This occurs when i run the game from both the crysis2.exe and the crysis2launcher.exe.
Anybody got any suggestions? My flatmate suggested i install on my ssd but i don't see that making too much of a difference, and i'd really rather not install the game on there, as it fills up pretty quick.
I'd be really grateful for any help and promise a shower of steam sale gifts if i get a fix for this.
