Crysis 3 Hunters Edition Alpha

Hi all,

Thanks to Keedar I got my little mitts on the Alpha trial for Crysis 3, its all downloaded and ready to go. The trial starts today at 8am but sadly for me I won't be playing it until late this evening

Im sure there are a few of you out there that bagged a trial as well so I was interested to see what peoples thoughts are of the game.

I realise this is Alpha, so wont be fully representative of the final game, but are you amazed by what they have achieved or suitably underwhelmed?

What settings can you play it on? what pc/laptop do you have?

Has the Alpha convinced you to part with your hard earned cash or put you off completely?

just played a game, very disappointed tbh, just feels boring, i think its turned into call of duty, but worse!!

Felt indentical to C2 but the performance was terrible so could barely play it. I play Crysis 2 on ultra on a single 680m . This struggles on high. I'll wait for some gpu optimization.

Oh dear, not looking good so far!

I have the 680m and was hoping I'd be able to crank the settings reet up. I loved Crysis 1, was hoping this would rejuvinate the series.

Apparently the settings make little difference even on low settings as this is early alpha. Ill report back.

Played like 2 minutes and quit Dont like it and looks terrible on max settings.I know its alpha.

Well low settings are working fast 60+ fps on the vortex 3. And you wouldnt know its low either. Just one of those things. Yes the game is pretty bland bbut I im sure this is just ironing out initial niggles. Mind you the Battlefield 3 alpha was this bland too so Im hopeful.

Just played a few rounds. Feels like Unreal Tournament with a few more bells and whistles (scarily so with the map I was on). Graphically I thought it was OK. I think i'll steer clear of this one on MP to be honest unless they can hone it to match UT2003's fluidity during the testing periods. SP was always the big draw for me with Crysis.

Ahh well, back to BF3...
