'Cutesy' co-op games?

Does anybody know of any decent 2 player co-op games that are fairly pretty and easy to understand? The missus and I have been playing GW2 but she's having disconnection issues at the moment which a lot of people on the GW2 forums seem to be having yet there's no solution. It's ruining the experience a bit and I figured I'd like something a bit more story driven and easy to get stuck-into rather than an MMO.

I was playing Borderlands 2 last week and thought that was great but I don't really think she'd grasp the FPS concept. Plus even I was struggling to keep up with how to manage my inventory, I think she'd be doomed!

So what I'm looking for is something nice and easy, perhaps controls and looks like an MMO (third person, pretty art and graphics), but isn't an MMO... Something that might play similar to Tomb Raider perhaps but 2 player? Despite all of my games in my Steam library I can't think of any at all.

To clarify, this is online co-op and not split screen

Well one of my favourite co-op games is Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, its great fun and easy to play. Plus its up to 4 player split screen on PC. Saints Row 3 or 4 are also brilliant fun if you don't mind some of the pretty horrible violence at times, although its still humorous. Dead Island is a brilliant co-op game as well

Not sure if you can do them online but the lego games are all fun to play coop.

I might check out Res evil, it doesn't HAVE to be cutesy, she does like being able to make a pretty little character most the time though.

Thanks for the other suggestions, I'll check some of them out. Unfortunately Portal gives her a headache and the lego games stress me out I get too OCD about destroying every little thing that will give me some coin things that I forget to just play the game and have fun!

Dead island is a good shout though. She loves zombies so she might get a kick out of it x) I'll keep an eye out if it goes on sale!

I clicked every word in the sentence I assumed he didn't mean keep an eye on the forums as I'm fairly sure I'd qualify as a 'regular' who knows where the PC games deal thread is by now

Also, I forgot to post my idea, which DM then did anyway...Trine/Trine 2 are great games to play solo, but also coop and I think definitely qualifies as cutesy!
