I plan to purchase a desktop PC for my daughter who has started to stream on Twitch. This is what I had considered and wondered if any horrendous erros spotted

Greetings! Horrendous errors… unfortunately, there’s quite a few.

First point to raise is owning a liquid system, they’re substantially bigger and require much more upkeep than a traditional system cooled by an AIO. They look good but there’s a fair bit more hassle involved. You’re paying a premium for something that has limited value in the gaming and streaming set up. They only come into their own in deep learning and research scenarios these days.

As for the setup itself, the CPU and GPU are more suited for a high end workstation and the memory is quite low frequency for a modern system. You can save bags of cash by choosing a more suitable set of components. She also won’t need a capture card unless she’s planning to stream content from a console. Modern GPUs have the tech to dedicate towards that.

Final point… we’re at the end of a generational cycle, there are brand new graphics cards and processors due in the autumn and they’re looking to be significantly more powerful. If you don’t need to order straightaway, it’s worth waiting.

But if you do want to place the order sooner rather than later, we’ll be more than happy to assist. A budget of £4,500 is capable of a dream setup 👍

If you’ve ordered that liquid build already, I’m confident that the general consensus would be to cancel and start again. What you’ve chosen will do the job but I personally think you could get a superior system without spending that much cash.

What monitor will she be using (make and model, or resolution & refresh rate), also can you post the configuration link from the bottom of the spec, as it makes it easier to make changes, and the above needs a few to balance it

This is where I'd go personally, I'd look for a proper 4K 144hz monitor though the 3080 is mostly wasted at 1440p it's capable of so much more

For the monitor I'd look for something like this then just get a cheap 1080p screen for monitoring the stream stuff


Mainly rejigged the storage, and went for a CPU that I think will happily cover all of your bases and a motherboard to suit

Removed extras you had on that you just don't need like the extra fans and the extra thermal paste, the case I selected comes with 3 fans and has very good passive airflow. Also the CPU cooler has three fans and a radiator which is more than enough for heat dissipation, the cooler also comes with it's own pre applied thermal paste so the extra isn't needed at all

Technician install isn't needed mate you just have to plug it in and were always here to help with any questions you may have
