I ordered a Optimus through finance on a friend because I had £550 of the cost and the finance is fairly reasonable.(yet due I'm not eligible because I don't work long enough hours)
So I have to visit him to collect it as it gets sent to buyers address (I live in Belfast he lives in Edinburgh)
We monitored the entire process and I booked travel over to see him on delivery week.
So I received my new optimus Wednesday had it clean installed on 7 ultimate. Everything ran perfect and smooth the laptop is amazing no heat issues i7 is blitz fast.
Here we go fun times death time.
So here's where it dies, I have a 1tb sata 6 hdd The build had a sata 3 500gb.
Insert 1tb into second bay and clone over. Laptop reboots into original just fine after clone.
Shut it all down, swap out 500gb put casing onto 1tb insert bobs your uncle.
Oh no mega death laptop is stone dead doesn't turn on, no LEDs light with power cable tested the charger works fine.
No power with battery. Had CMOS reset nothing, tried 30 second holding power no battery, reseating ram you name it.
Motherboard is dead from a hard drive clone 3 hours ago.
Now I'm going to have to RMA it go home and spend even more money getting it sent to Belfast from his when done.
Only real question when I RMA it can I upgrade myself to silver policy insurance just in case.(or gold can't remember if I'm on it)
Considering how the runs started I want protected
Longshot would be having sent to my address even though it wasn't ordered via my card >.> that entails a £12 but most likely a no show.
But in its 36 hour use I must say the laptop was outstanding and I'm more ****ed with the fact I actually had got to use it first and enjoy it before it went kaput the 3 weeks were torture and the RMA will kill me. No I'm wide awake will call em in morning.
This is a dead laptop record for me I'm literally still using a 5 year old Acer with mxm slot that's lasted longer
