dead pixel and driver cd not working

Hi I have just revived my new 15.6" Genesis IV with awesome specs :)

however I have some problems:

There is a dead pixel that I may want fixing but not strait away but maybe in a week or so. I want to know the estimated time that it will take to fix before i send it off as im not that bothered by it.

my second problem is the supplied driver CD does not work i originally thought it was the disk drive but it reads other disks and the same disk dosent work in other drives

the reason i might need the disk is there is currently no scroll feature on the touchpad and this would be brilliant so if this is on the disk i would like a copy to download and if not and there is some alternative to it then it would be greatly appreciated if you could post it here

my other comment is the option to select a second hard drive from the website needs to be addressed as there is no space to install one when i looked as i would of liked to put an SSD inside :( i found this missleading but again i dont mind to much.

thanks for the awsome laptop and for your responces

Best phone PCS and ask if they can send you another driver disk.
You can install another hard drive but at the expense of losing the optical drive.

just out of curiosity, what do you plan to use to install your os(in the future) as the genesis iv does not seem to support boot from usb ?

Does it really not support boot from USB? I thought every modern laptop/BIOS did. Since I just ordered one without a CD drive, and without an OS, this could be quite a problem :D

haha yep well tell me how it goes :) they do preinstall windows but without activating it so you could just buy a key online for home premium :) or format the drive and just spend time looking at the bios for the rest of your laptops life :)

ps ill have a look if it can usb boot :)

Far as I know, you can't buy a key or download windows online, not legally anyway, unless it's an upgrade.I'm pretty sure though you could still use an external USB DVD drive to install the operating system.

you can just click regester this copy of windows and do it that way and yes the alternative is possible too.

and as for the usb drive you cant do that unless the bios supports usb boot

also usb boot is posible i just tried it :)

The OS installed on the computer will be OEM,unless you buy the proper licence for it you could have trouble with activation.
Where can you buy a legitimate key without buying the disk, and where can you download a legitimate copy of windows other than an upgrade?
