A few days ago I installed a second hdd 1tb ,not ssd. The primary hdd is a 240 ssd. Is it possible that installing the second hdd heats up the laptop?
It's the cpu fan that seems to be working more.
Yes, a second HDD will create more heat. Download HWMonitor (free) from http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html. That will tell you about all the temperatures inside your laptop.
I ended up removing the second hdd. Battery was draining very fast and not to mention the heat generated. I guess all that heat is generated because the two hdd s sit on top of each other without room to breath.
