Defiance II sudden loss of fingerprint scanner

Not done any real investigating yet, but the fingerprint scanner on my Defiance II has suddenly stopped working.

It shows functional in device manager but is no longer a logon option nor does trying to register a new one in Hello work.

From what I can tell thus far though, it worked prior to the 28/10 when Windows 10 applied some updates.

I might pull them one at a time and see if it makes any difference.

Well that was odd!

I bought a new keyboard to use as when I type long technical docs I actually tend to prefer a nice full size keyboard.

It also happened to come with a USB mouse.

Plug the mouse in and it stops the fingerprint scanner...

Never seen that before.

FYI it's a Teknet 6D Gaming Mouse SKU: M268

I get the weirdest IT problems!

Has to be a driver conflict don't you think? Is there a dedicated Tecknet driver for the keyboard/mouse? If there is it may fix this issue?

Grr...I hate IT sometimes. ;)

I do like an answer when things go South but accept sometimes it is what it is.
