Defiance V: Bios control, setting and CPU

Hello all,
Just started using my new Defiance V (see the specs here ) )

As expereinced by other users, while Gaming with vents at full speed via Clevo Control center, CPU can get up to 85 °C and Laptop chassis gets hot in the top left area, but the Laptop is still playable and Enjoyable . Bios version is 1.07.06TPCS, Firmware 1.07.05, Motherboard PA70ES_EP6. I hope it's the latest version made in order to minimize Temp issues (already asked support to PCS)

Still asking myself if something better can be done: I read about some Defiance user, in order to further decrease temperatures, to Change CPU settings via BIOS or Clevo Control Center, in order to decrease CPU frequencies or "undervolt", but it seems that this option is not available in my BIOS, it seems locked, is this a standard? I don't know exactly how to "undervolt" or do things properly, this would be the next step after I got some explanation if Bios locking is resolved.

Any suggestion is welcomed

Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

I'm glad to see you are enjoying your new machine. As I have said elswhere 85°C is pretty acceptable for the chip so you should not really see any performance benefit from undervolting or anything of the like. If you are merely looking to optimise your temperatures then under volting could help although, naturally, if done wrong you may see issues. The way I would generally do this would be using intel XTU (you can find that here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/do...treme-Tuning-Utility-Intel-XTU-?product=66427) as this is fairly user friendly.

Thank you for your answer, I'll check it. Defiance is absolutely amazing so far, just trying to keep it at its best!
