Some changes from very first configuration:

1) I put the 1440P screen, why not? I hope it will work fine with the graphic hardware, in case just warn me if it's better to downgrade to 1080p screen;
2) Octane V was worth only with better hardware, with same config it was about 500 Euro more just for the chassis...I know OCTANE has better cooling but let's hope for the best, I bought already a Cooler Master NotePal U3 PLUS for helping the monster :), my target is to run WORLD OF TANKS, G-Sincying @120 Hz, I hope it won't burn ;)
3) So far I haven't requested any specific partitioning, any suggestion? It will be mainly for Windows + Office + Games, feel free to suggest, don't be shy;
4) I heard that Clevo Control Center can create issues with fps/cooling, is it so? Should I uninstall it or what?

Thanks for any suggestion/tip/help, order can still be modified!

Just posting here to see the responses you get.

I recently ordered the defiance V with the specs below, including the improved thermal gel but sent it back to be re-pasted after seeing temperatures between 85-90'C playing Payday 2 on a cooling pad, not something I consider to be particularly demanding.

I would rather the laptop be a bit thicker and cool better so if anyone does have any good advice on cooling that would be great.

Thanks for your answer! Are now temps after repasting good?

PS: How do you monitor temperatures, is CCC supporting this or?

I used a mixture of both "core temp" a free program and the built in Clevo app to ensure the figures were correct.

I do not know, as I have not received the laptop back, and after reading more forum posts about this particular model I have emailed them today asking them to keep it and I am now awaiting a response to confirm that.

Basically I ordered it on the 12th it got to me on the 18th, I raised an RMA on 19th, returned it on the 21st and have only just got an email saying they are looking at it.

It has a bad screen bleed issue and the overheating and like I said, I've just decided it is not for me, Not spending £1,300 on something I will need to replace in a year.

Other people in the forums appear to have upgraded to the next chassis model up with more success, maybe that would be best for you too?

Hey, fabcas, looking into these very same specs, i really want the QHD panel, since i´ll be doing some design, FHD is not good enough for me.

So after a few days, how would you describe your experience with that QHD screen?

Could you also provide the panel specs?

Hello!
I will make a kinda basic review end of this week: ABout the QHD panel, it's amazing, still on checking if any bleeding or dead pixel occurred, but so far I reccomend it
