Defiance V - Gaming Spec

Hey All,

I am planning on getting a new gaming laptop and after looking around, the Defiance V seems to be at a good price point for what you get. Looking at other user reviews, apart from the temperature (which seems to have been addressed with a BIOS update), this seems like a pretty good laptop to get.

I generated a spec but wanted to sure I am squeezing out the best value.

RAM - Reading a few posts there doesn't seem to be much difference between 8GB & 16GB, so sticking with the 8GB for now. If anyone disagrees, please let me know!

HD/SSD - I am never 100% sure what I am looking for/at when selecting these. Some advice as to better options would be great.

Obviously if there are some options that are a bit overkill and I could reduce the price down that would be great but more concerned about good gaming performance than saving a few £'s.

Faster RAM would be a good choice. 8GB is OK but I would always recommend 16GB where possible as it means less likelyhood of needing to crack the lappy open yourself. It's a fairly straight forward task though so definitely up to yourself.

I would go with the 970 M2 drive. The one you have selected is pretty pointless for taking up an M2 slot speed wise.

Other than that it looks fine to me. Screen looks great :)

For the M.2 SSD, go with a 970 Evo or a WD Black if you're okay to stretch to that expense. Otherwise the SX6000 is a more budget option that will still be faster than the bottom tier sata M.2s
