Define X1 loses sound after updating 1080 Drivers

Wondering could someone help me.

I have updated my 1080 driver today with the latest. The problem is I lose sound after the update. Games have no sound, YouTube has no sound etc

How can a graphics driver update cause you to lose sound?

Quite easily, but it should hopefully be a very quick fix / tweak to your settings.

HDMI and Display Port can carry sound, and it's quite possible that the driver update has caused the playback Windows is trying to use to change to something you don't want it to.

Open your system sound settings (guide here takes you through it quite handily: http://www.howtogeek.com/271285/how-to-change-your-audio-playback-and-recording-devices-on-windows/ )

and check if your default playback device has changed / set it to whatever it's supposed to be.
