Cheers, I'm not sure if it's me but it also sounds quieter, Just need to get the Graphic card to go in it now (RTX 2070) but that has to wait till early next month :D

Excellent job, hats off to you! I remember first time I changed a PSU and it was bum clenchingly terrifying looking at all the cables. But it actually ended up being quite an enjoyable methodical process.

As @Nursemorph says above, chances are it actually is a little bit quieter with it being a more efficient model 👍

Thanks, yeah was a bit like that here, I played around with the SATA power cables a bit till I was happy with their routing, was trying to do it just using one cable to start off with, but then decided I've got 2 so i might as well use them, so the 2 SSD's are powered off one & the HDD is powered off another.

The PSU is the one thing I've not yet changed in a PC. I've put a few hours into PC Building Simulator on Steam though, and it seemed easier than it looks. Still bum-clenchingly terrified is how I'll be feeling whenever my first time does end up coming!

It’s the moment where you finish the job and then fully expect the whole system to explode and embed shrapnel in your face when you power it up that’s the best. Followed by the relief when it boots up as normal. Money can’t buy that feeling.

Considering I've gone with the 500D SE, if it does explode and embed shrapnel in my face, it'd almost certainly be RGB shrapnel and so I guess it'd look pretty...? 🤔
