New gaming machine working fine since Christmas Day. This afternoon continues to cycle through trying to start up. Lights up and fans kick in but then shuts down and then starts again. Never kicks in to OS. Any advice appreciated? Strange why it was working and now not.
Haven't tried removing anything yet, should I?

Attached files. It is my nephew who is having an issue so he sent me screenshots.

Get your nephew to boot the Windows installation media, select Repair My Computer and then Startup Repair in there.

As your computer goes through this cycle, do you hear:
  • no beep at all
  • a single beep
  • a series of beeps

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, no beep before rebooting is not a good sign.

When a computer starts up, it goes through a series of automated tests to ensure all components are working. If successful, it gives a single beep and then proceeds to loads the operating system (e.g. Windows).

If it fails to complete the tests successfully, it will give a series of beeps, and this sequence of beeps will help identify which component is at fault.

Unfortunately your computer is giving no beeps at all before it reboots. That would indicate something fundamental is amiss if it isn't even able to give the series of beeps to indicate a failed test before rebooting.

At this point, I would switch off the power on the PSU but leave it plugged in (so the computer is grounded), pop open the side of the case and check that all components are fully seated, and all cables are firmly attached.

Absolutely worth a try. I suspect that the computer may still reboot before it gets to the point where it would attempt to boot from the Windows installation media. Nonetheless, give it a go.

If it can't boot off the Windows installation media, then unfortunately it does look that way.

However, if Support do manage to get it up and running, please do tell us what they advised you to do. Genuinely would be interested to know.

If it was me I'd try popping the RAM stick/s out and then reinsert them just in case one is not fully in place and has taken time to cause an issue. Unfortunately the motherboard chosen doesn't have onboard indicators of any hardware issues (the downside of budget motherboards).

Might be worth seeing if you can get into the BIOS (either F2 or Delete should work) as that would indicate if the system is booting to a certain point...if you can get into BIOS then it would indicate that the problem lies with Windows, in which case you'd either need a repair or a reinstall
Interestingly, that prompted me to check the ASUS site, and for no beeps, they advise to check the RAM and CPU (it was generic advice, rather than specific to this motherboard model).

If you are currently 12th in the queue, definitely worth removing and then reinserting each RAM module, as suggested by @Nursemorph, to see if that fixes the issue as there is probably plenty time before you reach the front of the queue.

Personally, though, I would not advise touching the CPU if reseating the RAM does not resolve the problem.

Thank-you for all your help. Disconnected graphics card. System then booted up using integrated graphics card. PCSpecialist sending out replacement graphics card and hopefully all will be well. Simple check but didn't occur to me, totally forgot the board had a graphics card.
