Disappointed with PCS

Edit title: PCS fixed my issues

After reading all the complimentary posts, I was very disheartened to face quite long delays on the building of my desktop PC, a nearly £2000 machine built for 3D gaming.

Having waited nearly a month for it, it has just arrived but without the monitor and 3D glasses. I had to call PCS myself to find out when I could expect those to arrive only to find out that it will take up to 2 more weeks as the previous monitor is "suddenly" out of stock.

I was not told ahead of time the monitor would go out of stock for a month after purchase, and now I have an expensive machine with no monitor.

On top of that, the price of the machine has gone down by a hundred quid since I bought it, and I still had to pay the price when I first ordered it.

Sorry to hear that, what monitor did you order?

I could advise you just to get the monitor from a different retailer, 2 weeks its quite a long time. I have read the reviews on the Asus 3d 23 monitor and I believe it is using the previous nvidia 3d glasses, have you consider the 27 inches asus? I have it and 3d gaming is really good.

The monitor came with the desktop in a bundle at a good price, that was part of why I ordered from PCS. Ordering elsewhere seems wrong after already recieving the desktop but no monitor, and already having paid for both.

It does feel like having the rug pulled from under my feet.

I know what you mean, I had a different issue though. Waited and was unable to use the pc for the 3D surround I bought it for, have 3 monitors that I cannot use and recently sent it back to see what the issue is. However I found the support over the phone good enough to keep me calm and just hoping the issue is resolved this time.

I'm sorry about this agtrinity, unfortunately as I told you were unaware there would be any further delay, let alone there would be a complete cancellation for this, and it is not something we like to do, the other customers awaiting this monitor are being notified, you just beat us to it.

Unfortunately these things can happen, and we do not intend to annoy or frustrate anyone when this happens, it is just something that can happen I'm afraid, stock is regularly replenished, and unfortunately in this instance, the stock we were hoping to replenish was cancelled, when we looked around they were non available from suppliers.

Again I apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Replied to you by email to see if there was anything you guys could do as I can't use my PC without a monitor.

I am sorry to hear about your troubles but you got to remember 3D screens are very bespoke at the minute; you don't often find them just lying around so there probably good reason its taking so wrong and id be glad cause most company's would fob you off with a sub par screen.

The price has gone down yes... but that is technology... i hate to tell you but ivy bridge will come out soon and you cpu price will significantly drop and you computer will not be as good as it was, this is unfortunate but hey at least you saved a bundle compared to buying it from a retail shop who really would rip you off! so you could be sitting there with a crappy 3d screen and an overpriced poorly constructed factory line computer and have it straight away with no problems but it not be very good, or accept these things happen and just wait for the most amazing pc youve ever had ;P!

on a side note, surely you can plug it in to your old monitor? or a TV? or anything really? its still functional...?

Well I paid for a desktop + monitor + 3d glasses in a package so I could get started right away for a good combined price, and until the desktop arrived I had no idea I would not have a monitor.

I have a laptop but I can't use that as my screen for a desktop, nor should I have to.

I already paid for the monitor, and paid more for the desktop a month ago than what it costs now, so I expect PCS to find a good solution here.

If his computer is good now it will still be good when Ivy Bridge is out, one thing doesn't change the other...certainly to the extent that the pc will degrade over night. In any case technology moves at a fast pace so there is no point worrying about getting the latest stuff because as soon as you get it it will be outdated.
