Disappointing delivery to Channel Islands

I ordered a laptop to the Channel Islands and talked to DHL. She explained the DHL numbers starting with JD are next day delivery inside the UK, but 3-5 day sea / freight to the Channel Islands. Considering its £33 pounds extra its a bit disappointing esp considering Royal Mail special delivery is 23 pounds guaranteed next day delivery (items <10kg and £1000 compensation for damage) if posted before 1pm or 2 days otherwise. I would like to suggest this option to PCS as Royal Mail dont charge extra to deliver to N Ireland or Channel Islands.

Considering you go to all the bother of being helpful and accommodating its a pity about the last part of the journey for non mainland customers. Pay a large premium and don't even get air freight. Overnight ferry it is. Hope my laptop doesnt suffer from sea sickness.

My laptop was sent at 11am Monday and DHL hope that it will be in Jersey by Thursday delivery Friday. And that's best case scenario. If it was sent via Royal Mail I'd be enjoying my new toy.

Just a thought.

I think the problem is DHL. Recently their home delivery part has been moved to Yodel, who are quick frankly, awful. We still get DHL deliveries from the US which are performed by DHL, however, any UK company we order from and use DHL, it will be delivered by Yodel. I had to pick my laptop up from their depot as they claimed it was out for delivery, but wasn't. I've also tried to book returns (to another company) through their website. Waited in all day and no one turned up. Again I had to go to their depot. Yodel are a truley shocking company, from litrature I've seen, their delivery drivers are all self employed and casual, so best of luck using them.
