Driver Disc for Laptops without optical drives doesn't really make sense

So I ordered a 13.3" Optimus V laptop without an optical drive because I thought I wouldn't need it. So I boot up my laptop to try and install my own version of Windows 8 (with an already owned key), and lo! and behold! I realise that I need to use the driver disc to install drivers, but there is no way to use the disc?

So I had to copy the files to an external hard disk, and then connect said disk to the laptop.

It just seems a bit bizarre to give a DVD of drivers for a laptop without a drive...

Some people use an external optical drive.

Well, that is not the point. Point is some people, myself included, do not want optical drives.

Not complaining/whining, just feedback.

My point was, people with external optical drives can use the driver disk. :)

Fair enough.

And to top it off... the disc did not include drivers for my wireless card, arguably the most important driver of them all.

You could try your homepage on the PCS website for available drivers. It is definitely not ideal but you can get the latest drivers online from the manufacturer's website.

What are the solutions?
* Provide online - already done, although admittedly I think there is the point that they could be easier to find. Does anyone have the link for drivers on the PCS site, or do you have to go to the manufacturer pages?
* Not provide a CD. I think even if it's easier to get online, it's still useful to have the CD as a backup, even if it's harder to make use of.
* Provide a USB stick. This would be nice - it's an extra cost, though not too much. I believe PCS sometimes randomly send out a free USB stick to some customers anyway.
