DVD Ripping/Encoding

Still a bit of a windows newbie re ripping/transcoding DVD's on windows so any help would be appreciated.

I previously used handbrake to encode my DVD collection on my mac and it did it no problem (managed to bypass the encryption too).

However, not having any such luck with windows handbreak. What I basically want to do is to transcode a commercial DVD to digital format.

If anyone could recommend any software on windows that can do this I would be most grateful

Cheers

I haven't done much myself but on the odd occasion i found www.afterdawn.com really handy...
For work i more often have to do it the other way and use Avi2DVD or Nero

Edit1 : Here is perhaps a good place to start, a list of rippers / transcoders - check out the guides too.

Of course PC Specialist in no way condones or promotes the circumvention of encryption on copyrighted materials.

Good point, it is illegal even to make a backup of a disk you've purchased. Sadly i have to this for work on the odd occasion and it is a pain in the ar...

If video killed the radiostar then maybe MKV will kill the filmstar - but if you ask me the studios will CGI whole casts soon.... oh wait avatar and beowulf etc.... so maybe that will reincarnate the radiostar ?

If you have to get around copy protection to back something up, its a no no. Its American law but that doesnt stop them.
