Enigma III - Freezing problems

Well...not having the best of luck with this laptop to be honest. Firstly the bluetooth didnt work wasnt too annoyed but didnt get a refund for it. Second the motherboard died so i have to send it in and get a new one fitted (originally thought it was the charger but it wasnt). Now getting huge lag spikes and freezes just from general use of the laptop. Not pushing it just a few things open I.e. internet, music. I have tried reinstalling windows and that has had no effect.

Any ideas guys? Anyone else having trouble with this laptop?

Sorry to sound annoyed but I am sure you can see where I am coming from as the laptop is only a few months old...

Thanks

Sounds like you have been very unlucky, personally I would call Tech Support at PCS and make them aware of the issues you have had from day one and get it looked at by them good and proper to try to avoid these problems keep occurring.

Sounds familiar. Mine went back and had a new MB, but was still the same, so it went back again!
I was told they got a fix from the manufacturer, and to be fair it has only crashed once since it came back 2 weeks ago or so.
Don't wait a week. Ring PCS, cos if its wrong, its wrong.
PCS did persist until it was fixed, so at least you are in safe hands there. Good luck. Roy

I think it has incompatabilities with another piece of software called Tune Up Utilities.

When you have the two together, at least for my Optimus, the laptop crashes around 5 seconds into start-up as everything initialises.

For a while I took off AVG then decided to swap it around.

If you every get a strange crash like this, best bet is probably to go into safe mode, uninstall AVG and then see what happens.

Always worth having a look in event viewer for possible clues to the cause of this kind of problem.
Go to control panel(All control panel items)/performance information and tools/click advanced tools on the left hand side/view performance details in event log.
this will take you to diagnostics-performance events .
If nothing obvious showing there,at the top of the tree on the left hand side, click on custom views/administrative events.
You might get more information that points to something by selecting details/Friendly & XML view,in the event viewer.
you could also try selecting "event log online"at the bottom of the page.

"Kernal Processing power" seems to be a common one but this is just a warning. Displays this message "The speed of processor 7 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 33 seconds since the last report." the "processor" number changes for each core and the "seconds" is always different. Is that any help or just a load of giberish? :) Thanks

Only an error in event viewer, pinpointing a particular device or program
causing the problem, would be of any help to the average user.
best give tech support a call.
