Afternoon Guys,

Hoping that you can help me out.

When playing RTW2 I get an instant crash to desktop once I hit the start battle button after army deployment. I believe the above error code relates to either a bios update or sound card driver update. Any ideas, my spec is below?

Thanks in advance

Where are you seeing the 0x00000005 code? You mention a crash to the desktop so it's not a Blue Screen error then? Is the error coming from the game or from Windows?

Make sure you have the latest GPU drivers. Otherwise, I suggest you wait for RTW2 to update as it's been a very buggy release for it.

Hi Guys,

It's a windows error saying RTW2 has stopped responding. If I then go into the event log then the error code against the event is 0x00000005.

All drivers are up to date for GPU and Audio. Anyway I can check things are functioning correctly? PC is only 1 week only! :-(

Hey there, I'd suggest re-installing the game in the first instance. Check your drivers are up to date (it is unlikely to require a bios update but the sound card might).

In that case I reckon it is an issue with the game itself, which has had a notoriously buggy release. They are doing weekly patches to fix things, so I suggest you just wait or do the Autocomplete Battle option.
Your PC is very likely fine.

I'd be tempted to agree with this advice. The 0x5 bug check is pretty rare, it's much more likely to be the game.

HI All,

Thanks for the advice. I'll just leave it until a couple of the patches have been released and see what happens then.

Thanks again.
