Hi all,
this is not directly related to a laptop, but I hope you can still help me.
I have an external HD for my laptop, which worked fine for 1 month. Then one day it was very slow, and the next day it is not recognized anymore. I get a message saying the device need to be formatted. It does not make any bad noise (like mechanical failure).
Of course I should be able to return it, but I am looking for a way to recover my datas on it.
In device manager it is listed under disk drive, and it says it is working normally. But I cannot access it.
I tried different USB port with no luck.
I used PC Inspector to try to access my disk. It works fine, I can see my files and copy and save them to an other HD. But why can I do that and not any other way? Is there not somethig I can do to restore the normal access to my datas?
I also used "Partition Find and Mount", to see if I have a damaged partition table, but it cannot find any partition on the drive.
Anybody know of a (free) way to either fix it (if there is some simple solution to that problem) or access my datas to recover them?
Thank you in advance!
Thomas
