Fan speed.

Hello everyone, i recently bought my computer and it arrived today.

It looks awesome except from a slight bend in the case which i am currently sorting out with PCS.

So my question is that i was wondering if there was anyway to change the fan speeds for the following fans as they are pretty loud and seem to be on full blast even when I am scrolling around on the internet.

The fans are:
CORSAIR iCUE 220T RGB AIRFLOW MID TOWER GAMING CASE Fans x3 (the ones that came with the case at the front)
PCS FrostFlow 100 RGB Series High Performance CPU Cooler (AMD)

I was just wondering this as the fans seem to be pretty loud when hardly needing to cool anything down.

Thanks in advance for any help! :)

Hey I'm having the same issue, don't seem to be able to control the fan speed using the Corsaire iCue software. Only option seems to be controlling the lighting for the RAM and fans.

Yes, this is exactly my problem, im guessing there must be a software out there to control fan speeds i just don't know what it is...

Ok, so it does appear that the Fan headers are not in a controller slot on the motherboard, but I'm struggling to find how they're connected to power.

If you look at the cabling coming from the front fans, see if they're plugged directly into the PSU (in which case there's no speed adjustment), or if they are in fact plugged into fan headers on the motherboard.

Thinking more about this, it's very likely that it's all going to be cable managed to the point it's going to be impossible to tell where the cables go to.

I'd contact PCS tomorrow and ask them if the front fans are able to be PWM controlled or not, then if they are, explain that adjusting the PWM control on the motherboard is having no effect.

Ah yes it appears they are, that's why the option to change is greyed out, not applicable. Still the noise isn't uncomfortable and once I'm listening to music/movies its completely unnoticeable. Time to move on and spend more time on why I bought this PC - I've spent the first part of this week just staring at the lights!

It's a shame, and not something I'd appreciated about the case, I just assumed that the fans would be controllable through software. To be fair, for the cost of that case, the design and materials are extremely high end, so they had to make compromises somewhere I guess, just seems a bit of a redundant cost saving effort.

That thread above is worth a look, they did some noise tests with 2 different variations, I think they swapped out the stock fans for some corsair ML fans which may (down the line) be something you're interested in doing. They would defintely then be PWM controlled. I have 3 ML fans in my rig and they're incredible both for performance, noise and effects (although a little pricey). Also bear in mind should you look at doing that, I believe you can actually fit 3 x 140mm fans which would be better for sound and airflow.

I mean, the fan noise is absolutely fine, as soon as i put my headphones on I can't hear it, and yes it's a really nice case!

Just bringing this back to the top, as I'm using Asus Fan Expert 4 (on my Asus Strix X570-F Gaming) to control the fan speeds...but the only fan I can't seem to control is the bottom-front one (for the HDD/PSU bay) - it stays at the same, high speed no matter what I do in the control software...even if I stop all the others, this one continues...and it's quite loud in a room of 3 Macs where the loudest thing used to be the fan on the Thunderbolt HD RAID enclosure.

I've removed the side panel to see if I can trace the cables, but it's like a spider's nest in there - and with it being all back cables it's not easy to trace...not helped by my very limited PC-opening/breaking/fixing skills.

I have a similar problem with ROG x570 and a Define 7, I can only control one PWM fan and all the other 4 (5 if I include the PSU) show 0 rpm. I opened a ticket, hopefully it is just rewiring.

Hello everyone, I'm using 'fan control' to adjust the speed of my fans. I can only adjust the fan speed of my GPU, CPU, and one additional fan. To adjust the other fan, watch this video:
. Watch this video to help you set the app up.

If you need any information, just ask, and I'll try to reply. I had the same issue as you guys, and I just want to help people who had the same issues.

This wouldn't help if the fans weren't wired correctly, only addresses fans that can be PWM controlled. Not all fans are speed addressable, the motherboard port or the fan itself have to have either PWM or voltage regulation capabilities. It's far more supported nowadays, back in 2020 it was still not quite up to todays standards.

There are a few custom fan tools out there now, SignalRGB and OpenRGB both have extensive fan control systems. They are good options but can be quite advanced in setup.
