Title basically says it all, everytime I boot my PC up it comes up with a message saying there's a file or application in /c called 'Program' do you want us to change it to 'Program1' as it could stop functionality of some applications..
I haven't downloaded anything apart from McAfee and tried downloaded the EDMIX driver from their website.
Can someone please tell me what to do.
Thanks.

I'd run a virus scanner and malware scanner, it sounds a bit dubious to me.

Okay, I'll run McAfee and instal MalwareBytes. Tell you how I get on... I don't see how it can be anything malicious though, I haven't done anything lol apart from downloading/installing mcafee and trying to install edmix driver from the website.

I'm 99% sure it started after I downloaded the drivers from EDIMAX website, must be.. it's the only thing I've tried downloading.
Would it be better to re-instal w7 as I don't have anything on the computer at the moment?

This can be caused by an error in the installation of almost any application and can be a pain
to get rid of,in your case I would start from scratch, unless you want to give system restore a try.

System restore and me are not friends, I'll re-install W7, the programs I have in control panel, such as Nvidia graphics driver/physx and a few things for the MOBO, will I have to download them?

I simply deleted the file, rebooted and the message never popped up.. should I still re-instal w7?

Up to you, usually the the file just reappears on reboot wether you rename it or delete it,
so you might be ok,try rebooting a couple of times.

I did a quick McAfee scan and nothing popped up.. I just don't want to be logging into things and stuff whilst there's a (if it is) malicious file. But thanks for your help, and Rak I'll keep you posted.

EDIT: booted it about 4 times and everything seems okay..

What kind of file is it?

If you do not have file extensions showing click

Start / Control Panel / Folder Options / View

Un-tick Hide extensions for known file types. Apply and Ok and go back to file and see what its extension is.

It was everytime I was installing EDIMAX driver, I rang support regarding my card and why it wasn't working and he said all the drivers are already installed so you don't have to. I opened my case as he was right, the Wifi card had come out of the pci socket.

Had a look and there is no file extension. I deleted it and hasn't come back, only does when I instal EDIMAX driver.
