The above is my ideal spec. Unfortunately in order to get it for reasonable value I'm having to ditch Win10. I have Win7 from my work so that'll do me for now.

What's really surprised me is that I can get a similar spec, save around £50 and get windows 10 included form another retailer. It's quite strange as the 3rd party will actually be getting PCS to build the laptop for them before forwarding it to me. I've made PCS aware of this and I'm waiting on a response from them to see if they can match the deal.

I'm in a bit of limbo as to which way to go to be honest as the difference in cash and the fact that it has Win10 isn't to be taken lightly.

I just went to order the review spec model and using a credit card carries a 2% surcharge. I can't justify another £40 for using a card so if the other supplier doesn't charge I'm going to go with it.

Everything is steering me away from PCS including the fact that no-one has gotten back to me regarding my inquiry at 2pm (I understand they were busy but surely 4 hours is ample time to return a query?).

The other vendor was the 256gb model and carried a 1.5% surcharge on the card so I've bitten the bullet.

Well done, you should be on commission. I'm now almost £1950 lighter

Not identical. The HDD on the 'other' PC is way inferior to the Caviar Black on the PCS order. There will be a big difference in price for that disk, and you'll notice the difference in performance too.

Made a difference of £15. I tried changing to the stock 1tb HDD and it was barely any difference. The price difference was effectively Windows 10. If I took that off of the PCS order the prices were similar.

Even calling them up the guy was surprised it was cheap, he couldn't figure out why either.... hence why he was going to speak to a Manager and call me back.
